« The world is as beautiful as the gaze we cast upon it. » – Yves Duteil
Hello dear visitor,
Through an artistic eye combining photography, illustration and writing, I explore the beauty of our planet in all its emotional nuances.
My approach to travel is authentic, immersive, contemplative, and sometimes introspective. I don’t travel to collect exotic places, but to reveal their discreet poetry and fragments of soul through sensory experiences and encounters. I seek to listen, observe, and feel life, to inhabit the world with delicacy.
The interactions between the dizzying immensity of wide open spaces on the one hand, and the intimacy of local traditions on the other, exert a naive, almost childlike fascination on me. I feel a strong, instinctive, and comforting connection to them. Do we inhabit this world, or does the world inhabit us?
I aspire just as much to crystallize the fleeting, fragile, and incandescent moments offered to us by vast landscapes, with their changing weather and their shades of light and shadow, as I do to immortalize those snapshots of human life conveyed to us by a glance, a smile, a tear, a gesture, a reflection…
The space takes shape, and, tiny, I take shape with it. I hide behind my camera and my notebook, ready to reveal what is already slipping away, and I weave a strange ballet with light, shadows, colors, matter, and movement. Quivering beneath my fingers, the image and the story come to life.
At most, I am keen to suggest a presence, an atmosphere, a unique story; to touch upon it with the tip of my heart, but without telling it in its entirety. I like to think that my work continues in the viewer’s gaze, leaving room for the imagination that we all possess.
